B License

Age:

18 years old.

Vehicles allowed:

  • Automobiles with a maximum authorized mass not exceeding 3,500 kg. built for the transport of no more than eight passengers in addition to the driver (trucks, vans, vans, adaptable mixed vehicles, passenger car derivatives and motor homes). These vehicles may have a trailer with a maximum authorized mass not exceeding 750 kg attached.
  • Coupled vehicle combinations consisting of a towing vehicle authorized to drive a class B license and a trailer whose maximum authorized mass of the combination does not exceed 4,250 kg.
  • Two and three-wheel mopeds and light quadricycles.
  • Motor tricycles and quadricycles. Up to 21 years of age, it does not authorize driving motor tricycles whose maximum power exceeds 15 kW.
  • Special non-agricultural vehicles or their assemblies whose maximum authorized speed does not exceed 40 km/h., and whose maximum authorized mass does not exceed 3,500 kg. if it exceeds any of these limits, the driving license corresponding to its maximum authorized mass shall be required.
  • Special non-agricultural self-propelled vehicles or their assemblies transporting up to nine persons including the driver.
  • Special agricultural self-propelled vehicles or their assemblies exceeding the established maximum masses and dimensions or whose maximum speed by construction exceeds 45 km/h.

This license does not authorize driving motorcycles. However, persons in possession of a valid class B license for more than three years may drive within the national territory motorcycles authorized to be driven with a class A1 license.
