What is CAP?
The certificate of professional aptitude (CAP) is a certificate valid throughout the European Union, which serves to certify that a driver has passed the courses and exams required to obtain the qualification as a professional.
This certificate has no expiration date, but its validity is conditioned to the holder following the corresponding continuous training courses within the established deadlines.

Which drivers are affected?
To those who hold driving licenses of categories C1, C1+E, C, C+E, D1, D1+E, D or D+E and have to drive a vehicle for which these licenses are mandatory in any member state of the European Union.
From when is it enforceable?
In this section, a distinction must be made between the requirement for initial qualification and ongoing training. Initial qualification is required:
- For drivers holding D1, D1+E, D, D+E licenses issued on or after September 11, 2008.
- For drivers holding C1, C1+E, C, C+E licenses issued on or after September 11, 2009.
Where can I take the CAP courses?
The CAP courses can be taken at the training centers that Grup Bahía has authorized by the Department of Transport in Ondara and Xàbia.
Can these courses be subsidized?
Grup Bahía offers you the possibility, free of charge for companies, to carry out the necessary procedures for the Social Security bonuses to which these courses are entitled.
